OVST’s Summer Youth Theater Program for 2009

The Sound of Music, 2005
OVST presents second summer program to nurture students in the development of theatrical knowledge and skills. Through a variety of hands-on activities, participants will have an opportunity to explore performance and/or technical production and artistry with a concentration in the area of their choice. Individual growth and development is the goal. Possible topics of exploration include movement, voice, acting and character development, stage lighting, sound, costume design and stage make-up, prop construction, and puppetry.
Who: The program is open to primary through high school grade students.
When: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, July 13-August 1. Youth grades 1 through 4 will meet 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Grades 5 and up will meet from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The program will culminate on Saturday, August 1 with a free demonstration performance sharing with family and friends the knowledge and skills learned.
Where: ARTS/West, 132 W. State Street Athens, OH with a field trip on July 15, field trip location to be announced.
Cost: $75 for a total of nine class meetings and one demonstration performance. Additional participants from the same family are $65.

To register by telephone: Call the OVST box office after June 1st to register and make payment by phone. Our box office agents will help you complete the registration. Before the student can begin class, a parent or guardian must sign the required registration forms. This can be done on the first day of class.
The OVST box office can be reached at 740-593-9696. Box office hours of operation are 11:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
